James McKnight

JAMES H. MCKNIGHT, 103 ½ of Little Rock was born Nov. 22, 1912 in Mason Hall, Tenn. to parents Enos and Callie Boyett McKnight and passed away April 21, 2016 at Lakewood Health and Rehab in North Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 70 years Mildred McKnight. He was retired from the VA Hospital where he worked for many years as a warehouse manager and served in the Army during WW ll in France and in Germany. He was of Methodist faith and was a member of Winfield Methodist Church for over 60 years. He is survived by his daughter Debrah Roberts and her husband Don of North Little Rock who served as his caregivers until he moved to the Lakewood Health and Rehab, and his son Ronnie McKnight and his wife Beverly of South Carolina. Other survivors include grandchildren David Bufford and wife Maleah of Austin, Ark., Karen Stone of Jacksonville, Ark., Becki Branhan and Donald McKnight both of South Carolina and great grandchildren include Dustin Buffor d, Sydney Bufford, Logan Bufford, Malorie Smithson and Melissa Smithson as well as his niece Shirley Hunter and husband Ricky and their children, his great nieces, Jessica Hunter and Candace Owen and great-great nephews Gannon, Silas and Luke as well as former granddaughter in law Amy Bufford and many other extended family and friends. The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and Lakewood Health & Rehab for all of their care and support in caring for Mr. McKnight.
