Mildred Ricketts Herring

Mildred Ann Ricketts Herring, age 80, of White Hall, died Wed., April 20, 2016. Born May 27, 1935 in the Hardin community, she was a lifelong resident of the White Hall area. Her parents were the late Sam Albert Ricketts and Carrie Robertson Ricketts Clinton. For 34 years, she worked as a licensed practical nurse, retiring in 1994. Mrs. Herring volunteered with the American Red Cross, traveling with them to several disaster areas to assist in relief efforts. She also enjoyed crocheting, attending activities with her children and grandchildren, cooking, and traveling. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Sheridan Chapter and the Pines Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Herring was also a member of the Pine Bluff/John McAlmont chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Predeceasing her are her husband of 62 years, Billy Leon Herring; a son, Billy Leon "Butch" Herring, Jr.; and her step-father who raised her, Leonard Perry Clinton. Survivors include her children, Jerry "Kowboy" Herring and Kristi Michelle Herring Mullins; her grandchildren, Tye Carlin Herring, Holly Ann Mullins and Ashley Mullins; and a special friend, Susan Byrd. Memorial services will be Tues., April 26, 2016, 6 p.m. at Lemonwood Baptist Church with Brother Stephen Drye officiating, and Order of the Eastern Star funeral honors.
