Annie Flauceil Buckner Bell, 91, of Conway, Arkansas, formerly of Quitman and Little Rock departed this life on March 22, 2016. She was born to Isaac Anderson Buckner and Mattie Bird Wood on July 27, 1924 in Pearson, Cleburne County, Arkansas. She became a military bride when she married James H. Bell in 1944 until he retired after 23 years of active duty. From this union, their only child, a daughter, Jan, was born in 1947. After living from post to post in the military, they retired at Fort Smith and then moved to Little Rock where they resided for many years until her husband's death when she relocated back to her home community of Quitman to live on the lake and moving then to Conway in 2012. She was involved in politics, an activist, a participator, loved entertaining, loved to cook and sew, and was a diva too. She weighed gunpowder during the war at the Jacksonville Ordinance Plant, was a Gray Lady with the Red Cross, conducted estate sales, sold antiques and brought home more than a few as well. She was a 50 year plus member of the Pearson EHC. She was on the steering committee to get a fire department in the Pearson community. The accomplishments and accolades were many but her pride was her family and friends for whom she had a deep and abiding love. She never met a stranger and she looked beyond people's failures and saw only the goodness and kindness in them. She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Janis Bell Adams of Conway; three grandchildren, Christopher Clayton Adams (Chrissy) of North Little Rock; and twin granddaughters, Sara Ashley Adams of Alexander and Leslie Lee Adams of Conway. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Hannah Claire Miller of Conway, Alexis Kay Ellis and Gavin Ray Ellis of North Little Rock. She is survived by one sister, Wincie Buckner Hendricks (Jerry) of Fort Smith as well as a host of nieces and nephews and their families, cousins, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; four sisters, Dorothy Marie Buckner, Maun Blanche Buckner, Juanita Madge Buckner Kirby (Edward), and Rena Fay Buckner Menees (Gene); and one brother, Thomas McKay Buckner. A celebration of her life memorial service will be at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Dr. J.R. Debusk of Heber Springs officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Arkansas Hospice, 1105 Deer St., Suite 10, Conway, Ark. 72032. Professional care provided by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, Arkansas.
