Louis Delbert Barrett, 77, of Conway passed from this life on Monday, August 1, 2016. He was born Monday, July 31, 1939 in Conway, Arkansas to James Darrel and Callie Mae Bollen Barrett. Mr. Barrett was active in the community serving on several boards including the Conway Planning Commission, Conway Board of Adjustment and the ILS Board as well as serving 14 years on the Faulkner County Nursing Home Gift Fund. He was an avid fisherman and volunteered many hours coaching youth in softball and basketball. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Barrett Livingston. Survivors include his wife Kathy Goens Barrett, sons Jim Barrett of Conway, David Barrett (Stephanie) of Conway, John Skinner (Beverly) of Conway and daughter Kellie Gilkey (Wade) of Fort Smith. Other survivors include grandchildren, Blake Alysa Barrett, Kaitlyn Gilkey, Avery Gilkey, Connor Gilkey, Ethan Barrett, Tana Barrett, Chase Barrett Skinner and great grandchild Ryleigh Donahue along with a host of extended family and friends. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with Pastor Kyle Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park, Conway. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be J.O. Bailey, Wade Gilkey, Bill Hannah, Lonnie Williams, Mickey Prince and Mike Moix.
