Linda Sue Dawson Pierce, 74, a lifelong resident of Bentonville, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born September 4, 1941 in Downtown Bentonville to James Lindsay and Aleen Mathews Dawson. She attended Gravette High School and was crowned Miss Benton County Queen in 1957. Sue was surely the Queen of her family. She never missed an opportunity to gather the family for celebration. She prepared a mouthwatering dinner for each and every gathering. Christmas Day could not come soon enough for her. She would don her Santa hat and her beautiful smile. She would share her love and kindness, a plethora of homemade candy treats, a delectable Christmas dinner, a beautifully decorated tree and home. She loved to travel with her adoring husband. She and Byron experienced many adventurous trips, together, and with a delightful group of friends. While too many to list, some of her memorable moments included road trips to California and the West coast, to the East coast and Nova Scotia, bear watching and float plane fishing in Alaska, zip-lining in Costa Rica, rafting in the Grand Canyon, a remarkable train ride into Copper Canyon in Mexico, snow skiing in Colorado, and touring a pineapple grove in Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Diana Joyce Dawson. Sue is survived by her husband of 37 years, Byron E. Pierce; four children, Rick Reynolds (Tina Peltz), Pam Sizemore (Kevin Babin), Mark Pierce (Lisa), Craig Pierce (Judy); seven grandchildren, Eli Reynolds, Aimee Wynn (Troyce), Taylor Sizemore (Rachel), Matt Pierce, Marly Longinotti (John), Shaelyn Helm (Justin), Brett Pierce; two great grandchildren, Nicolas Wynn and Charlie Jean Sizemore; a brother, James Dawson; two nieces, Jamie Kinsey and Joie Bray and many dear friends. The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2016 at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Chapel in Rogers with Barney Scott and Ed Scott conducting the service. Burial will follow in Bentonville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time. Memorials may be made in memory of Linda Sue Pierce to: Circle of Life Hospice or The Parkinson Foundation.
