Rita Lynn Calhoun, age 76, of Benton, joined her husband in their Heavenly Home on August 1, 2016. Mrs. Calhoun was born on August 18, 1939 in Stephens, Arkansas to her parents Gus and Evelyn Warren. She loved playing the piano and singing. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Temple Baptist Church for over 35 years. She attended Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana and was proud to have retired from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Rita is survived by her loving children; Brian Calhoun and his wife Laura of Alexander, Sherri Tatum and her husband, Monte of Benton, Lisa Cotton and her husband, Richard, of Little Rock and Kim Blakley and her husband, Pat, of Benton. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, along with two sisters, Peggy Stephens and Jacque Kisselburg and a host of other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly. Mrs. Calhoun was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, of 57 years, Max Calhoun. A Celebration of Rita's life will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2016 in the chapel of Dial & Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant, Arkansas, with Cody Calhoun officiating.
