Billy Joe Stevens

Billy Joe Stevens, 77, of McGehee, Ark. passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016. Billy was born in Banks, AR on January 26, 1939 to the late Arthur Elmer and Willie Mae Stuart Stevens. Billy worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 29 years. He trained bird dogs and loved to quail hunt and coon hunt. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his precious wife of 48 years, Linda Bogy Stevens, and the mother of two sons, Brian and Scott; brothers, Raymond Stevens and Dorse Stevens; sisters, Virginia "Jinny" Mooney, Catherine MInchew, Marjorie "Margie" Jones, Geraldine "Jelly" Cingolani, and Pauline Rivilin. Survivors include a sister, Iona Louise Whitlow "Agnes" of Clarksville, Tenn., his life partner, Charlotte Jones; sons, Brian Stevens and wife, Teresa, of Tillar, Ark. and Scott Stevens and wife, Jennifer Young Stevens of McGehee, Ark,; grandchildren, Jake Stevens, Whittney Stevens Rushing and husband, Houston, and Crystal McCarty; great-grandchildren, MacKenzy McCarty, Aaryn McCarty and one great-grandbaby, Due in December. Visitation will be held at 6-8 pm, Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, Ark. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service Chapel in McGehee, AR. with Rev. Tim McDaniels officiating. Burial will be at McGehee Cemetery.
