Shelby Jean Bourne

Shelby Jean Draffen Bourne, (Mrs. Rodger Bourne) of Scott, Arkansas departed this life on August 7, 2016, just two days prior to her 48th wedding anniversary. She was born on September 12, 1936 in Paragould, Arkansas to parents George Everett and Vival Ryne Draffen. She is survived by her husband, Rodger Bourne; three children: Telela Martin (Eddie), Vival Wilson (Andy) and George Wofford (Tammie); sister, Betty Brooks, from Idaho, eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Shelby married Rodger Bourne on August 9, 1968. She worked many years for N. F. C. Marketing Insurance Company. She was very active in church and taught children's Sunday school for many years. Shelby truly loved Jesus and leaves behind a host of Christian brothers and sisters. One special Christian sister in Christ is Sister Mary Livingston. Visitation will be held from 4–6 p.m. on Sunday, August 14th in the Rest Hills Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday August 15th at the funeral home with burial immediately following in Rest Hills Memorial Park. Pastor Andy Wilson will be officiating with Pastor Steve Murphy, Brother Jerome Gentry, Sister Annette Davis and Sister Telela Martin participating in the service.
