John Earl Evatt

JOHN EARL EVATT, age 84, of Jacksonville, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016. He was born September 26, 1931 to the late Earl and Jessie Shelton Evatt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Strobbe Evatt and his sister, Dorothy Evatt. Mr. Evatt was a 1950 graduate of Jacksonville High School. He retired after 26 years working Civil Service at the Little Rock Air Force Base and was in the Army Reserve/ Guard for over 34 years, he was a Vietnam veteran and he received a Bronze Star. He is survived by his daughters, Karen Hardcastle (Billy Ross), Sherri Parks (Jimmy), one sister Blanche Morden, and a special friend Catherine Worsham. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Concord Cemetery in Furlow.
