Mary Ethel Reed Martin

Mary Ethel Reed Martin, age 92, of Hot Springs died Friday, August 12, 2016. Except for the past three years spent in Hot Springs, Mrs. Martin was a life long resident of Rison, Arkansas, where she was born on October 14, 1923. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray B. Martin; her parents, Oscar and Lena Moody Reed; her brother, Franklin O. Reed; and a granddaughter, Rachel Michelle Brown. Survivors include daughters, Cynthia M. Brown (Ronnie) of Hot Springs and Hilda M. Harris (Paul) of Radford, Virginia; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Janelle Martin of Rison. Mrs. Martin was a member of Rison Baptist Church where she served as organist for over 60 years. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed playing bridge as well as board games with family. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Greenwood Cemetery in Rison with Reverend Elwin Ollar officiating. Visitation following graveside service in the Rison Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rison Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
