Charles L. Nichols

Charles Lee Nichols Sr., 86, of Russellville, Ark. died Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at his home. He was born July 21, 1930 in Dardanelle, Ark. to the late Charlie (Chalk) and Ozzie Kelleybrew Nichols. He was appointed Pastor of the Russellville Church of God in Christ, now known as Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, in 1963. He owned and operated Nichols Dry Cleaners. Mr. Nichols was known locally as Russellville's own "Mr. Jefferson." He is survived by two sons, Charles Nichols Jr. of Russellville, Ark. and John (Carolyn) Nichols Sr. of Findlay, Ohio; three daughters, Velva Nichols and Jacqueline Thompson, both of Russellville, Ark. and Caroline (DeWitt) Brockman of Little Rock, Ark.; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren. Homegoing services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2016 at New Prospect Baptist Church, 316 S. Houston Place, Russellville, Ark.
