Carolyn Whitfield Schwaller
Carolyn Whitfield Schwaller, an exceptional mother, grandmother and lovely wife, lost her brief fight with cancer on Aug. 13, 2016. After both Carolyn and Larry, her best friend and husband of nearly 50 years, retired from Federal government service in Washington D.C., they returned to Little Rock in 1999. For the past four years, Colorado Springs, Colo., has been their home. She graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1966. Carolyn is survived by her husband; her daughter and son-in-law, Nicki and Ryan Mitchell and three grandchildren, Hunter, Brock, and Taylor Szuszczewicz, all of Colorado Springs; her daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and David Bazan, and one grandchild, Bryce Carlini, all of Frederick, Md.; her brother, Bobby Whitfield of North Little Rock; her sisters, Robbie Johnson of Conway, Ark., and Rhonda Allen of North Little Rock; and her father, Bob Speights of Mayflower, Ark. Her sweet mother, Dottie Moore Speights, passed away a few years ago.
