ERIC GREGORY SCHLACK, 65, of Little Rock passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016 after a hard fought battle against Bladder Cancer. He was born Sept. 20, 1950 in Detroit, Mich. His parents, Dr. Elgin L. Schlack and Nathalien (Nan) Etson Schlack preceded him in death. Eric is survived by his wife of 34 years Anne Smith Schlack; son, Reid Andrew Schlack; brother-in-law, Charles Smith (Beth) of Arkadelphia and a host of other "adopted" family members in Arkansas and Alaska. Eric lived with his family in Owosso, Mich., until the age of nine before moving to Mesa, Ariz., where he would graduate Mesa High School in 1968. A summer job with family friends in North Little Rock would bring him to Arkansas. He stayed after his job ended to attend Henderson State College in Arkadelphia. Eric graduated Henderson in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. While attending college he was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity. Eric was employed with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals as a Sales Specialist. He loved his job, co-workers and most of all the staff and doctors he has called on over the years. Eric recently commented after seeing co-workers at a lunch meeting "I really miss my job." Another special love was his son Reid. He was so proud of Reid's accomplishments as raising a son can be difficult at times. Eric was an only child helping to raise an only child. He leaves behind good work ethics and personal values as a legacy to his son. The family would like to extend a special Thanks to Dr. Richard Heck, Dr. Ron Kuhn, Dr. Brad Baltz and the awesome caring staff at CARTI who together helped in Eric's Cancer Journey. In addition to his medical team, the support and encouragement of family, friends and his many co-workers at AstraZeneca is greatly appreciated. A Celebration of Life Visitation for Eric will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity close to your heart. Cremation services were entrusted to Roller Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. (501) 224-8300. Online Guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/chenal.
