Joe A. Wright, 91, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, August 22, 2016. He was born November 6, 1924 in North Little Rock, Ark., to the late Joseph and Minnie Gentry Wright. He graduated with the class of 1942 from North Little Rock High School. Joe was a family oriented man who served as a pilot in the United States Navy, and retired from Southwestern Bell with 35 years of service. He was a member of Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church his whole lifetime, was an avid fisherman, loved camping, vacations and the Razorbacks. He is survived by his daughters, Becky Roberts (Darius), Kim Stacey (Joe); grandchildren, Justin McCuiston, Scott Stacey (D.J.), BeckyJo Stacey, Weston Stacey, Cassie Campbell, Jeff Campbell, Kali Roberts and Caleb Roberts; great-grandchildren, Tyler Stacey, Jinna Stacey, Ryley McCuiston, Colin McCuiston and Eva Roberts, and several extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 61 years, Rose Blasingame Wright; two brothers, Reagan and Orville Wright; and two sisters, Prudie Taylor and Billie Layne. Memorials may be made to Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church, 1723 Schaer St., North Little Rock, Ark. 72114. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 25, at Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church, followed by a visitation in the fellowship hall.
