Herbert J. Huneycutt, age 93, of Fayetteville, went to be with his Lord on Monday, August 22, 2016 in Fayetteville. He was born May 14, 1923 in Arkadelphia, the son of Claude and Stella Pennington Huneycutt. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. He was a retired agronomist after 30 years at the University of Arkansas. Herbert served during World War II in the U. S. Army in the Philippines. He has served as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas and was a children's Sunday School teacher for over 40 years. He ushered at Razorback football, basketball and baseball games for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Betty Huneycutt; two daughters, Sharon Adams of Arkadelphia and Judy Archer and her husband Doug of Pelham, Alabama; two sons, Jay Huneycutt and his wife Jamie of Fayetteville and John Huneycutt and his wife Carol of Fayetteville; six brothers and sisters, Virginia, Clovis, Wanda, Marvin, Wendell and Theodore "Ted"; six grandchildren, Jacob, Samuel and Hannah Huneycutt, Gretchen Archer, Jennifer Wyatt and her husband James and Ed Arrington and three great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 25, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
