Jean Hotvedt Casey, age 84, of Little Rock, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Jean was the daughter of Laurence I. Hotvedt and Gladys Hall-Hotvedt. She was born December 3, 1931 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Jean attended public school and graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1949. She entered nurses training in 1950 at Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago, Illinois where she met the love of her life, a young dental student, William L. Casey Jr. They married January 2, 1952 and moved to Little Rock. They had one son, Laurence W. Casey. Jean was active in dental auxiliary affairs. She served as president of the Central District Dental Society and president of the Arkansas State Dental Auxiliary. She was also a member of the auxiliary of the American Dental Association. Jean enjoyed golfing, fishing, ceramics, sewing, and traveling. She also enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of multiple bridge groups. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence I Hotvedt; one brother, Charles Hotvedt and her husband, William Lee Casey, Jr. DDS. She is survived by her brother, Arthur Hotvedt (Dorothy); one son, Laurence W. Casey (Deborah); two grandchildren, Page Moore (Robert) and Blake Casey (Jessica); four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2016 at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 29, 2016 at Roller Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas 72211, (501) 224-8300. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. The family would like to express its sincere appreciation to the staff at Brookdale Pleasant Hills for their compassionate care.
