Jewell Frank Steinbeck

Jewell Frank Steinbeck, 76, of Conway passed away Friday, August 26, 2016. Jewell was born at home on January 1, 1940, to Jewell Jefferson and Virginia Sue Light Steinbeck in West Helena, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Steinbeck. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Conway. He graduated from Helena-West Helena Central in 1957, with a Bachelor of Science from ASTC in 1962, and with a Master of Science from UC A in 1975. He retired after 30 years from CHDC as an assistant administrator and team leader. He was a retired Master Sergeant of US Army Reserve after 34 years of service. Survivors include Nancy Chronister Steinbeck, wife of 55 years had he survived one more day. He is survived by his son, Jeff (Jayme) Steinbeck of East End, Ark., and his daughter, Jennifer (Tim) Victory of Conway. He loved his grandchildren, Drew Steinbeck of Milan, Italy; Jordan Southerland, Logan Steinbeck, and Ash'lea Victory, all of Conway. Also surviving are his sisters are Peggy Barry of Wynne, Ark., and Anna Mae Cooke of Barton, Ark., and a number of nieces and nephews. Jewell made a noble and selfless decision to donate his body to medical education and research through Genesis Legacy of Life of Memphis, Tenn. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Conway with Dr. Dale Wicker and Marty Baw officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
