James E. Langford

James E. Langford, 91, of Kingsland died Sunday August 28, 2016 at Greenhouse Cottages in Rison. Born July 12, 1925 at New Edinburg, he was a son of the late James Hiram Langford and Pearlie Towery Langford. He worked in construction, mostly building sawmills; a member of Kingsland First Baptist Church and a deacon for 50 years; a Navy veteran of World War II; and a member of the Kingsland Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ethel Dean "Dinky" Selman Langford; three sisters, Dorothy McCallister, Martha Catherine Smith, Ann Crook; three brothers, Gordon Langford, Gerald Langford, Charles Langford. He is survived by his son, James Michael Langford of Fayetteville; daughter, Brenda Burford of Fordyce; two brothers, Glynn Langford of Kingsland, Rayburn Langford of Prairie Grove; a sister, Mary Sue Davenport of White Hall; two grandchildren, Dru Burford (Heather) of Crossett, Terri Guess (Josh) of Brandon, Miss.; four great-grandchildren, Brady and Blake Burford, and Clara and Collier Guess. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brenda's home at 106 Pine Forest Lane, Fordyce, Ark. 71742. There will be a visitation 9 a.m. Wednesday at Kingsland First Baptist with services following at 10 a.m. at the church with Rev. Gene Murdock and Rev. Jeffrey Parker officiating.
