Attorney George S. Ivory, Jr. of Little Rock, Ark. passed away August 21, 2016, after a valiant struggle with cancer. He was born February 8, 1943, to George S. Ivory Sr. and Verdie Haynie Ivory. He had been a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Little Rock. Ivory was a practicing attorney for over 33 years. He was a partner in the firm of Walker, Roaf, Campbell, Ivory and Dunklin until 1996 when he founded the Ivory Law Firm. Additionally, Attorney Ivory helped to establish the first minority-owned radio station and one of the first African-American owned mortgage companies in Arkansas. Born in Camden, Ark., Mr. Ivory graduated from Oak Grove High School in Rosston, Ark., and he earned a B.S. degree from the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arkansas - Little Rock, Bowen School of Law. Attorney Ivory is survived by his beloved wife, Rose Ivory; son, George Ivory, III; daughter, Jennifer Ivory; brother, William Ivory (Billye); two nieces, Monica Ivory and Kimberley Ivory; and a host of relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. September 2, 2016, at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 815 West 16th St., Little Rock. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Little Rock, Ark.
