Jerry Lane Paris, 69, of Cabot, died Monday, August 29, 2016. He was born August 4, 1947 in Greenville, Texas to the late Edward Lenzel Paris and Edna May Turney Paris. Jerry served in the United States Army, and later worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 33 years as a master electrician. He enjoyed yard work, sports and spending time at home with his loved ones. He loved spending time with his grandson, Tanner, whom he cared for after his retirement. Most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and looked forward to going home to him. He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents, Nathan and Ella Turney, and John and Pernie Paris. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cathy Paris; children, Michael and Brittani Paris; grandchildren, Layne, Todd, Michelle, and Tanner Paris; daughter of the heart, Katie Moon (Floyd); granddaughters of the heart, Layla Grace Moon and Barbara Ibarra; siblings, Barry Paris (Saundra), Larry Paris (Pat), Rick Paris (Jane), and Linda Paris; and special sisters, Sue Compton (Duane) and Joanne McDonald; aunt/second mother, Nellie Warwick; mother-in-law, Geraldine Hicks; sister-in-law, Glenda Daughrity; brothers-in-law, Richard Hicks and Jerry Hicks (Gina), and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ. Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Cabot. Funeral service will be Friday, September 2nd at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Mt.
