Maurine Jones

MAURICE ELOY MCDONALD, 85, of Sherwood saw the Lord's arms open and heard the organs playing on Dec. 1,2016. We are sure she said "Lord, I am not afraid of anything anymore". Maurine graduated from Thornton High School in Thornton, Ark. in 1949. She retired from Southern Paper Box Co. in L.R. but kept in touch with many friends she had made during that time. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lon and Virginia McDonald, her husband and love of her life, James F. Jones, and 5 Siblings. She is survived by her loving family: three stepchildren, who never thought of themselves as "Stepchildren": Sara Grimes (Roger), Ricky Jones (Becky) and Donnie Jones (Jackie). Six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, two Sisters and one Brother, plus many Nieces and Nephews. Maurine played the organ at Indianhead Baptist Church and loved being there whenever the doors were open looking for someway to be helpful. She was there to help but they were the ones always there for her and her late husband. These were her Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 at 1 p.m. with the Funeral Service at 2 p.m. at Indianhead Baptist Church, 8601 Indianhead Dr., Sherwood, Ark. 72120. Burial will be at Rest Hills Funeral Home, N.L.R., Ark., immediately following services. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Mrs. Jones' name to Indianhead Baptist Church.
