Cecil Edward Simpson

Cecil Edward Simpson, 79, of Rohwer, passed away at his home December 4, 2016. He was born April 22, 1937 at Rohwer and was the son of the late Cecil Curtis Simpson and Elsie Marie Smith Simpson. Mr. Simpson was a member of Kelso Baptist Church, retired area farmer, served on South East Arkansas Levee District Board for 33 years and Served several times as President. Served 32 years on Delta School Board and most of those years as President. Also, served on County Fair Board, Kelso School Reunion Committee and Pendleton gin Board member. Survivors are his wife, Lavada Simpson of Rohwer and two sons, Greg (Connie) Simpson of Tillar and Randy (Charlene) Simpson of Mountain Home and a daughter, Suzanne (Ted) McEvoy of Ft. Smith, one brother, Steve Simpson and one sister, Carolyn Biggs both of McGehee, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation held from 5-7 p.m., Monday, December 5, at Griffin Funeral Home. Funeral held 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Kelso Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Courtney officiating with burial in McGehee Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Parkinson Disease Foundation, William Black Medical Research Building, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, New York, New York 10032.
