Felix Childress

Felix Childress, age 77, of Bauxite, passed from this life and entered into rest on Sunday, December 4, 2016. He was born to Miller and Stella Brown Childress on August 25, 1939. Felix was predeceased by his parents; brother and his wife, Arlander & Leota Childress; sister and her husband, Dorothy Mae & Grady Brown and a son-in-law, Larry Oswalt. Those Felix left to cherish his memory include: his wife, Marilyn Oliver Childress; daughter, Felicia Oswalt; son and daughter-in-law, Randy & Colleen Childress; grandchildren, Meredith & Justin Bull, Blake Childress, Trevor & Andrea Oswalt, Mandy & Shane Ferguson and Tim & Khrista Oswalt; great-grandchildren, Meaghan, Abbigail & Grayce Oswalt, Cohen & Tate Ferguson, Addie & Andy Oswalt and Jaxson Bull; brother and his wife, Elmer & June Childress; sister-in-law and her husband, Velma & James Bellinger; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug & Doris Oliver, Jimmy Oliver, George & Ursula Oliver and Tommy & Sharon Oliver; many nieces & nephews; Trinity Baptist Church Family and many other loving friends. During his lengthy illness, Felix was loved and cared for by Sharon Oliver, Pearl Barker, Betty Esworthy and Saline Memorial Hospice House caregivers. Felix is remembered as a very pleasant gentleman who was a kind and gentle man. The greatest desire of his life was to strive toward being a Godly Christian man. He was thankful to get retirement from Reynolds Metals Company, retiring as a multi-craft employee. Felix always felt the challenge of "fixin" anything that was broken. He enjoyed helping friends, family and neighbors with that talented ability, often behind the scenes with no desire of recognition. Pallbearers will be Blake Childress, Justin Bull, Shane Ferguson, Trevor Oswalt, Shane Oliver, Ron Oliver, Clay Farrell and Matt Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be the Trinity Baptist Church Deacons. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 6 at Trinity Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7 at Trinity Baptist Church with burial at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Brother Mike Titsworth will be officiating.
