David Cornelius Thrush, 83, of Cabot died Monday, December 5, 2016. He was born August 29, 1933 in Oak Grove, Louisiana to the late Raymond Roosevelt Thrush and Ruby Lee Barnes Thrush. Mr. Thrush served his country in the United States Air Force for 30 years, retiring as a Chief Master Sargent and then 20 years in civil service. Mr. Thrush enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching football and was an avid gardener. He volunteered his time to help with sporting events with his children at various bases around the world and was generous to a fault. He was loyal and caring to his family and had a special love for his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thrush was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Jean Thrush and his brother, Donald Thrush. Mr. Thrush is survived by his sons, David G. Thrush (Inga) of Beebe, Raymond N. Thrush (Darla) of Cabot, Robert Michael Thrush (Lea Ann) of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and Mark Thrush (Rachel Parent) of Cabot; brother, Jim Thrush of Odessa, Texas; sisters, Anita Emrick of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Ramona Chapman of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren, Matthew Sharp, Andrew Thrush, Makayla Thrush, Hanna Thrush, Samantha Thrush, Jessica Thrush, Beatrice Thrush, Michelle Thrush, David C.R. Thrush and Esther Thrush. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Grace Fellowship in Cabot with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. with Pastor Harvey Boyd officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2016 at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements are by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816.
