Frances Lancaster

Frances Lancaster, age 74, of Hot Springs, passed away on December 4, 2016. She was born in Searcy, Arkansas to Lois Amanda Wilson Dilliard and Edward Anderson Dilliard on September 11, 1942. She is predeceased by husband, John Hurtt Lancaster and daughter, Rachel Paige Lancaster. Surviving Frances are sisters, Virginia Garner (Delvis), Mary Cone (Baxter) and Ann Norwood (Kirby); a nephew, Trey Cone (Tiffany) and a niece, Katherine Norwood. Frances attended Hot Springs schools before attending the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where she received a BA in Education and a Masters in Student Personnel. Her professional career spanned 40 years of counseling high school students. She was employed for 10 years by the Kansas City Missouri School System and 30 years by the Hot Springs Lakeside School District. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma honorary society of educators and P.E.O. Fran was a member of Mortar Board, Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, Master Gardeners, and Friends of the Library. She served as President of the U. of A. Associated Women Students, President of the Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Gamma Fraternity, and was recently recognized as a 50 year graduate of the University of Arkansas. She was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church serving as an elder, Sunday school teacher, a member of the chancel choir and various positions in the Presbyterian Women organization. The memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3819 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, 71901 with visitation after the service. There will be a private interment. Arrangements are through Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
