James Kenneth Rose, age 80, of Fayetteville, Ark. passed away peacefully at Willard Walker Hospice Home on December 6, 2016. He was born on November 2, 1936 in Aurora, AR. to the late C.P. and Mae Rose. He was preceded in death by his brother, Preston Rose and son, James Rick Rose. From the age of 6 years old, Kenny grew-up on his family's farm and raised cattle for many decades. In addition to farming, he was self-employed as an electrical contractor in Northwest Arkansas. He was also an avid gardener, lover of nature, wildlife and animals, big and small. He was a caring husband, father and grandfather, who was deeply loved by his family. We will miss his incredible sense of humor which kept us laughing even during the difficult times! Kenny was a graduate of FHS, Class of 1954 and a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sally Rose; daughter, Kathy Mastalerz and son-in-law, Stephen of Fayetteville; grandsons, Justin Parker (Valerie) of Alameda, Calif. and Logan Rose of Prairie Grove; granddaughter, Hayley Ellis (Mike) of Fayetteville; one great-grandson, Jordan Parker of Alameda, Caif.; sisters, Reba Gail Caine of Mobile, Ala. and Wanda Combs of Fayetteville; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service to be officiated by Pastor Ray Baggett, to be announced at a later date under the direction of Beard's Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to the Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 E. Longview St, Fayetteville, Ark. 72703. Cremation arrangements by Beard's Funeral Chapel.
