Jack E. Peters gained his heavenly reward on Dec. 10, 2016 at Washington Regional Medical Center. Born in Mountainburg on Sept. 5, 1923 to Harrison and Sadie Peters, Jack was raised in Mountainburg and spent most of his life there. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe, Jim and Phil; sister, Neva; and by his wife of 58 years, Glynda (Jim) Peters, nee Turner. Jack graduated from Mountainburg High School and served in both the European and Pacific theaters of World War II as a Navy Seabee. He was retired from the Social Security Administration. Jack served on the Mountainburg School Board and taught Sunday school at the Mountainburg Presbyterian Church for 40 years. He was a lifelong student of the Bible and continued his Sunday School Ministry at the Black Oak Baptist Church after he remarried and moved to Fayetteville. Jack is survived by his daughter, Donna Faehling of Myerstown, Pa.; his son, Phil of Fort Smith; granddaughters, Jessie West of Oklahoma City and Jodi Lee of Little Rock; grandson, David Faehling and his four children of Myerstown, Pa.; and Jack's loving wife of 13 years, Bobbie Peters of Fayetteville. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016 at Ocker Chapel of Alma with interment in Conley Cemetery. Justin Allen and Eric Howerton will officiate the services with musical accompaniment from Elaine Bowlin. Pallbearers are Rick McClarrinon, Brent Bennett, Dale Reed, Mike Cruse, Ron Wey and Buddy Peoples. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Balazic, Kelly Rogers, Kenneth Coe, Wendell Boardman, Rick Boaz, Lou Godfirnon, Darwin Lewis, James Guess and Harold Davis.
