James W. (Jim) Stanley, 78, of Conway, died Dec. 9, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy; and parents, Woodrow and Katherine. He is survived by his children, Michael Stanley (Diana) and Karen Case (Buddy); grandchildren, Chad Jones (Jessica) and Crystal Jones; great-grandchildren, Cherokee and Zachary Jones; his brother, Tracy Stanley (Mary); his aunt, Sadie (Stanley) Ring; step-grandchildren, James, Eric, Brandon, Brittany, Amber, Natalie, Chelsea; and numerous great-grandchildren; as well as other cousins, other relatives, and friends. Jim served in the National Guard from 1954 to 1957, married in 1957, graduated from the UofA in 1960, and worked for Phillips Petroleum Company for many years in Texas, Oklahoma, Belgium, Puerto Rico, and Los Angeles before retiring 28 years ago and moving back to Arkansas to be near his relatives. Jim (and his wife Kathy) enjoyed traveling and skiing in Europe, California, New Mexico, and Colorado. In more recent years, he attended reunions with family and also with descendants of the Army's 10th Mountain Division, in which his father served in WWII. Rosary will be at Roller-McNutt (Conway) on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. followed by visitation from 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. Entombment will follow in the St. Joseph Mausoleum.
