ROBERT G. "BOB" MARSH went to his Lord and Savior after a sudden illness Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016. Bob was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Newport, Ky., to Toy Guy Marsh and Helen Westerman Marsh. Bob attended Newport High School and graduated college with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1951. During the Korean War, he served his country by being part of a secret team stationed in Aberdeen Maryland working on an early missile defense system. After the war, he joined the Allis Chalmers in Norwood where he met his bride of 58 years, Marcia Hesler Marsh, who survived him. Bob was an avid baseball fan and played for his high school and church, St. Paul United Church of Christ in Fort Thomas, Ky. He loved his Cincinnati Reds and his alma mater Bearcats and followed them to the end. In 1976 he was relocated from Ohio to Little Rock. At A/C, Bob was a long-time Manager of Products Sales and retired in the mid-nineties after 40 years of service. Bob was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock. He was also member of the North Little Rock Lions Club where he was a past president (at the same time his son presided over the Little Rock Founders Lions Club) a Melvin Jones Fellow, and a 33rd degree Mason. After retirement Bob enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent North and gardening with his wife. Bob was a devoted husband, father, friend and grandfather. Bob is also survived by his sons, Kevin (wife Leisa) of Little Rock and Keith of North Little Rock. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kyle and Kristen Marsh, both of Kansas City, Mo.; and two first cousins, Sally King of Fort Thomas, Ky. and Sue Westermen Veldhaus of Burlington, Ky. Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 13, at First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock at 1:30-3 p.m. followed by a service at the church. Graveside immediately after at Rest Hills Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to the First United Methodist Church music ministry or the Sherwood Animal Shelter. Online guestbook is available at www.griffinleggettresthills.com.
