E.J. Smith

E.J. Smith, age 85 of Jacksonville, passed away on December 11, 2016. He was born April 6, 1931 to the late Jess and Ella Faye Smith. He was a US Army veteran Purple Heart recipient serving during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Betty Jean Smith, and one son, Craig G. Smith. He is survived by his children, Eric J. Smith, Keela Smith, brothers, E. Ray, Bobby, Harold and Benny Smith, sister, Ella Faye Belote, grandchildren, Payton, Rilee, and Raven McGahey, Nicola and Jeffrey Smith and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
