Rufus Bradford "R.B." Stacks, 94, of Bee Branch, Arkansas went to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 11, 2016. He was born January 2, 1922 in the Point Remove Community near Formosa to the late Ben R. and Zura Stacks. Mr. Stacks attended South Side High School in Bee Branch and was a retired dairy farmer. A decorated veteran of WWII, Staff Sargent Stacks was awarded the Bronze Star for heroic achievement on the battlefield. However, he felt his greatest accomplishment was the day he married the love of his life, Bernice Faye Graham. A devoted husband and father, his number one goal was to provide for his family while living a life that was pleasing to God. He spent his life working tirelessly building the farm he loved. He was conservative, thrifty and lived by the principle "waste not, want not" to guarantee the longtime security of those he loved. R.B. was a man of honesty, integrity, and his word was his bond. He was kind and gentle with a dry, witty sense of humor that only came out occasionally. R.B. loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In the evenings, he read his Bible and watched gospel and country music shows on R.F.D TV. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brother and sisters. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 70 years, Bernice Faye (Graham) Stacks of the home; daughter, Judy VanPelt of Bee Branch; sons, Tommy (Susan) Stacks and John B. Stacks both of Damascus; grandchildren, Michael Stacks, Lori Thone, Lucas Stacks; Court Stacks, Ryan Stacks, Tate Stacks, Kelli VanPelt and Kara Paxton; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 14, 2016, 12 noon at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel officiated by Billy Henderson. Interment will be in Blackwell Cemetery in Damascus. Pallbearers will be Michael Stacks, Court Stacks, Lucas Stacks, Ryan Stacks, Gary Graham, David Rogers and Honoree Pallbearer Tate Stacks. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Conway Regional Hospital, St. Andrews Place, Dr. Idris and Dr. McColgan.
