Verna Marie Anderson

Verna Marie Anderson, 75, of Fayetteville passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 in Fayetteville. She was born March 7, 1941 in Spiro, Okla. to George and Stella Ebbs Shockley. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David and Eugene Shockley; sisters, Sylvia Crandall and Dorothy Simko; children, Leana and Eric Janssen; and a grandson, Billy Wayne. Verna was a home caregiver. She is survived by her brothers, George Shockley of Caliente, Calif., Earl Shockley of Caliente, Calif. and Bill Shockley of Springdale, Ark.; sister, Vera Jane Haney of Plattsburg, N.Y.; son, Scott Janssen of Fayetteville; daughters, Tami Sheehan of Winslow and Laura Vining of Huntsville, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016 at Unity Covenant Church in West Fork. A gathering of family and friends will follow the same day at 6 p.m. at the Nantucket Community Center in Fayetteville. Cremation arrangements by Beard's Funeral Chapel.
