Edward Henry Caldwell

On Tuesday, December 13, 2016, Edward Henry Caldwell went to spend Christmas and eternity with his Lord Jesus and his beloved wife, Laveta. He was born in Conway on August 3, 1924 to James Ernest Caldwell and Lillie Belle Yant Henderson Caldwell. He retired as a truck driver from T.I.M.E., DC, but worked as a telegram delivery boy, a watch repairman and an employee of the Little Rock water purification plant before and after his service in the Navy during World War II. He also spent many years as a grounds marshal at Greystone and Cypress Creek Golf Courses. A member of First Baptist Church Cabot since 1969, he served as a Deacon for more than 40 years, drove the church bus for both youth and seniors and also taught Sunday school and Bible study groups for most of those years. He spearheaded the Cabot Christmas Alliance for about 35 years. He was much loved and respected by both young and old alike. Mr. Caldwell is survived by his children, Judy Charton (widow of John) of Cabot and Eddie Caldwell (Paula) of Plano, Texas; one sister, Lillie Mae Fischbach; six grandchildren, Lori Aughenbaugh (Bill), Shawn Charton, Kevin Charton, Josh Caldwell, Courtney Caldwell, and Ryan Caldwell and one great-grandchild, Jacob Charton, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, December 17, 2016 at First Baptist Church Cabot from 2 to 3 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at 3 p.m. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
