Pearl Ellen Hamilton Turner

On December 14, 2016 another precious angel was called home, when Mrs. Pearl Ellen Hamilton Turner, age 92 years, went home to be with the Lord. Mrs. Turner, born on May 1, 1924, was a life-long resident of Searcy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Turner; her parents, Anna Bernice Johnson Hamilton and Will Hamilton, her brother, Carvie Hamilton, and her maternal grandparents, Hosea and Emma (Chatman) Johnson. Mrs. Turner was a dutiful Christian Warrior and devoted willing worker at Christ Temple Holiness Church for over 65 years. In 2010, Mrs. Turner received the Life Time Achievement Award for Christian Work from the White County Black History Awareness Celebration Committee for her commitment, dedication, service, and love for her church and community. Over the years, she was honored many times by various churches and community organizations. Both Mr. and Mrs. Turner were exceptionally proud of their six children, who all attained advanced degrees in their chosen profession. Mrs. Turner leaves behind a great legacy to cherish her memory including her Children: Jeffery L. Turner, Beaulah Turner Bowman, Margaret Turner Williams (Willie), Gwendolyn Y. Turner, Ida Turner Davis (Timothy), and Tommie Yvette Turner; Grandchildren: Terya Hurtt, Tondra Bowman, George Williams (Shawn), Jermaine Williams, and Adia Jordan Davis; Great grandchildren: Danielle Hurtt, Myles Williams, and Mason Williams; And a host of very, very special cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and church members.
