J. Murray Young

J. Murray Young age 91, of Rye, Ark. died Friday, December 16th, at the Bradley County Medical Center. He was born September 13, 1925 in Rye, Ark. a son of the late James Samuel "Jim" Young and Willie Hazel Ashcraft Young. He was a cattle farmer, a chicken farmer and he cut and baled hay all over South Arkansas for his customers and friends. J. Murray was a member of the Harmony Free Will Baptist church, a WWII veteran serving as a medic in the Army and he loved being at the Broken Spoke to visit with people. He was also preceded in death by his former wives Veta Bob Brown Young and Ruth Savage Ferrell Young, brothers Floyd Dale Young, Henry Eugene Young, James Owen Young, Clay Maxwell Young and Aubrey Young. Sisters Katie Sue Reep and Mary Elizabeth Adams preceded him in death. He is survived by three sons, Mike Young and spouse Kay, Rye, Ark.; Bill Young and spouse Beverly, Rye, Ark., and Bob Young and spouse Brenda, Rye, Ark.; a brother, Willie Jordan Young and spouse Martha, Rye, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Lain Bowman, Cody Young, Blake Young, Bracy Young, Bryan Young, Carol Martins and Eddie West; 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 18th at Frazer's Funeral Home. Burial in Union Cemetery at Rye by Frazer's Funeral Home.
