Bettye Jean Rash Davis

Bettye Jean Rash Davis was born June 8, 1927 in the Enon Community near Monticello. She died Dec. 13, 2016 in Barling, Ark. She was one of five children born to Howard and Pearl McNeese Rash. She was a graduate of Drew Central High School and then studied business courses prior to moving to Little Rock to work. In 1949 she married S. Leo Davis. They worked for Civil Service and lived in Texas, Georgia, and Alabama prior to retirement when they moved back to Little Rock. Her hobbies were golf, gardening, cross word puzzles, cross-stitch, board games and cards. She is survived by a sister, Ruth and husband Noel Hobson of Van Buren; one sister-in-law, Kathleen Rash; six nephews and three nieces, plus numerous great nieces and nephews. Bettye was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leo; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Laron and Bettye Rash, Roy and Francis Rash and Garland Rash, as well as a step-son, Sam L. Davis Jr. Bettye lived in Little Rock for over 40 years before moving near her sister as her health deteriorated. She was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church and loved every moment she spent with her church family. This included Sunday School, numerous trips with various age groups, worship services, the choir's Christmas and Easter performances, the "greeters' who welcomed her to each service were as few of her dearest memories. Graveside services will be conducted by her nephew, Craig Hobson of Rogers, Arkansas at 11 a.m. on Dec. 20, 2016 at Pine Crest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family members.
