Jeannine Elizabeth Thompson Robinson was born May 20, 1929 Colton, Calif., to Elizabeth Louisa Morris Thompson and Jerome Walter Thompson. A resident of Austin, Texas from 1974-2016, she then moved with her husband to Tulsa to live with their daughter. Jeannine leaves: husband of 69 years, Lt. Col. Wilbur L. Robinson, USAF Retired, who in 1965-67 taught ROTC at the University of Tulsa, three daughters: Ruth Ann Elwing of Sparks, Nev., Elizabeth Robinson, Ph.D. of Tulsa, Okla. and Mary Renda of Thorndale, Texas, as well as son, Alex Robinson of Austin, Texas and her brother, Jerry Thompson, M.D. of Germantown, Tenn. Jeannine also leaves eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She attended Little Rock Central High School (Then Little Rock Senior High School). She was active in the YWCA and was a Girl Scout Leader. In 1975, she founded and directed the Austin, Texas non-profit agency: Sponsor-Coordinators for Refugees, originally aimed at assisting in the resettlement of the Southeast Asian legal immigrants. After 12 years, Jeannine Robinson had assisted in resettling over 4500 people. In 2007, Jeannine was recognized by Kraft Foods for being one of the top 100 female leaders creating positive national social change. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. December 23, 2016 at Koenig Lane Christian Church, 908 Old Koenig Lane, Austin, Texas 78756. Jeannine will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery on December 29, 2016 at 3 p.m., where her husband, who earned one of the Nation's highest military honors, the Silver Star, as well as the Purple Heart, will eventually join her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children at 3100 Sanford Avenue, Shreveport, La. 71103. Jeannine is already truly missed by both family and friends.- Always.
