Carl E. Hamby

Carl E. Hamby, age 77, passed away Friday, December 16, 2016. He was born to the late Jodie and Rena Mae Hamby on February 16, 1939. Carl is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Lockhart. Carl Is survived by his wife, Barbara of Benton; a brother, John Hamby of Vilonia; a son, Mark Hamby of Beebe; two daughters, Shannon Florence and Jennifer Christopher of Sherwood; and one grandson, Jaxon Hamby of Beebe. Carl came to faith in 2015 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Vilonia. He attended Sylvan Hills High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1959. He served under the Joint Task Force which performed and observed nuclear testing on Enewetok Atoll in the South Pacific. He retired from Pulaski County Road and Bridge in 2005. Carl loved the outdoors and enjoyed wildlife and hunting. He was an avid reader and like his father, was a very creative handyman. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
