Alf Langston

Alf Langston, 80, of Hot Springs Village passed Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016. He was born Nov. 11, 1936 in Reed Springs, Mo., to Rev. James G. Langston and Mable Miller Langston. Alf was a retired Colonel who last served as Chief of Staff of the Arkansas National Guard. He also achieved 33rd Degree Mason, was an active member of the St. Joe Masonic Lodge and served as a deacon with Coronada Baptist Church in Hot Springs Village. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Pendergrass Langston; children, Tommy Langston (Tammy), Nanette Schauer (Dave), Jeff Rusher (Lisa), Rodger Rusher, Greg Rusher (Sorita), Alicia O'Brien (Jimmy); 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Garrison; brother, Bob Langston; nieces, nephews and extended family. Box 195, Lonsdale, Ark. 72087. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27th at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home.
