Jack Overton Crone

Jack Overton Crone, age 94, passed away in Rogers, Ark., on Dec. 20, 2016. He was born Feb. 16, 1922 in Ropesville, Texas, to G.W. Calvin and Mamie Rebecca (Moore) Crone. In 1933 Jack's family moved to northwest Arkansas where he graduated from Bentonville High School in 1942. He continued his education at Freed-Hardeman College in Henderson, Tenn., was drafted into the Army and eventually graduated from college with an Associate Arts degree. In 1948 he settled in Dallas, Texas, and worked as a design draftsman for Dallas Power & Light for 32 years. Following retirement he lived in Bella Vista, Ark. He was a member of the Bentonville Church of Christ, an accomplished artist, and a recreational harmonica player. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy, one brother Calvin Crone and three sisters; Zoree Champion, Lola Sanders, and Theda Kiner. He is survived by his son, Larry Crone and his wife Barbara of Bentonville, Ark.; his daughter, Rebecca Jarnagin and husband William of Camden, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Jeff Crone, David Jarnagin, Angie (Crone) McKinney, and Deborah Jarnagin; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 26, 2016 at Bentonville Church of Christ in Bentonville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016 at the Bentonville Church of Christ in Bentonville. Burial will follow in Benton County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mission Fund at the Bentonville Church of Christ, 904 N. Walton Blvd., Bentonville, Ark. 72712.
