Donald Arthur Millar, age 53, born May 2, 1963, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016. Preceded in death by his mother Christine Sammons and step-father Carl Sammons of Longview, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Stacey Davis Millar; his two sons, Nicholas Millar and Nathan Millar of Cabot; his daughter, Amanda Millar Wilkie and husband Tyler of Fort Stewart, Georgia; and granddaughter Ava Sue Millar of Cabot; his brother, Jim Millar and wife Debbie of Gause, Texas; his in-laws John and Sue Davis, grandmother Miriam Davis of Cabot; two brothers-in-law, Dan Davis and Paul Davis of Jacksonville, and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends. Don graduated from Hallsville High School, Hallsville, Texas, in 1981. He attended Kilgore Junior College. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. After his military service, Don became dedicated to more than a 27 year career at Whit Davis Lumber, where he was part owner. Don was a man of God with a servant's heart. He was full of life, always smiling, and never met a stranger. As an avid Texas Longhorn fan, he never missed watching a game. Shortly after meeting Stacey, his passion for the Razorbacks grew. Don loved the ocean, he also spent many hours on Greers Ferry Lake with his family and friends. Another joy of Don's was time spent piloting the family plane. More than anything else, he absolutely loved spending time with his amazing family. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27, 6-8 p.m. at Cabot United Methodist Church. The funeral will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Cabot United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Old Austin Cemetery in Austin.
