William F. "Sonny", "Bill" Thomas Jr., 78, of Hot Springs Village, passed gently, peacefully into the arms of his Savior on December 27, 2016, surrounded by loved ones. He was the son of Mildred and William Thomas. His devoted and loving wife, Anna McKnight Thomas was by his side. Their three children, Angie Thomas Bennett of Denver, Colorado, Joni Thomas of Nashville, Tennessee and Scott Thomas of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and daughter-in-law Missy Thomas were also with him in his final hours. His two grandchildren, Anna Beth Thomas of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and Jacob Lindsay of Nashville, Tennessee were the sunshine of his life. He was close to his brother, Elmer Neal Thomas of Conway, Arkansas and his sister Mary Alice Broach of Conway, Arkansas. He was beloved by a large, extended family. Bill was a self-made man who leaves a legacy of perseverance and dedication. He enjoyed a lifelong career with York International starting as a young apprentice and working up to become and international engineering marvel. He traveled the world extensively and gave his family the opportunity to live in many places. His devotion to his career was less about personal success and more about providing for this family. The sacrifice of his time with them exemplified the unconditional love and generosity that defined him in every area of his life. Funeral service will be on Friday, December 30 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock 72211. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12 noon. Burial will be at Blackwell Cemetery near Bee Branch at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to American Diabetes Association, or the charity of your choice, will be appreciated.
