William "Bill" Carroll Doughty, age 84, of Houston, Arkansas, passed away, Wednesday, December 28, 2016. He was born September 3, 1932 in Quapaw, Oklahoma, a son of Luther Doughty and Ocel Williams Doughty. He was a member of Temple Missionary Baptist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Master Mason of Perryville Masonic Lodge #238. There he recently received an award for 50 years of membership and was honored as the 2016 Mason of the year. He proudly served for the last 14 years on the Quorum Court. He spent his life as a cattle farmer and retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department. His love of the outdoors was one of the biggest joys in his life, whether it be stalking a turkey, scouting for a big buck, or sitting on the pond levy with a cane pole hoping for a bite, he found great peace in all things that were provided by God. Of all the organizations he belonged to, and of all the great hunts he had, what he was most proud of was his commitment to his Savior Jesus Christ and his family. He had a love for his family that everyone lucky enough to call him Daddy or Papa felt. It was a love that was unconditional. He had a special way of connecting with each family member in individual ways to bless them with an incredible feeling of love and compassion. Survivors include his wife, Francine Brown Doughty of Houston; daughters, Judith (Claude) Froggatt; Linda Doughty; and Cindy Langston all of Perryville; brothers Darrall (Janice) Doughty, and Nelson Doughty of the Antioch Community; sisters Vida (Bill) Wright of Perryville, and Delores Honeysuckle of the Antioch Community; grandchildren, Gordon (Angela) Parham; Amanda (Willie) Lopez; LeighAnn (Rusty) Marshall; Kimberly (Nick) Blaylock; Jay (Blair) Langston; Jennifer (Cole) Cody; and special hunting partner Kenneth Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Ocel Doughty; brothers, Norman and Charles Doughty; son-in-law, Dale Langston. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Harris Chapel with Rev. Gordon Morgan and Bro. Will Doughty officiating. Burial will be at Ada Valley Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 30, at the funeral home.
