Luellen Mary Penzo Weiss passed away quietly on January 29, 2016. She was born in Tontitown, Arkansas on November 8, 1932 to Andrew and Flora Bariolla Penzo. Luellen grew up in Tontitown, Ark. and graduated from Springdale High School where she met her future husband Jim. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. Edward's School of Nursing in Fort Smith, AR in 1954. She worked in the Springdale Clinic many years and was the first instructor of the HOE program at Springdale High School. The Weiss family moved to Houston Texas in 1972. She became the first Director of Nurses for Treemont of Houston, in Houston, Texas where she worked the remainder of her Nursing career. She enjoyed spending countless hours gardening and she loved her grandchildren. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She will be greatly missed by her family. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association. Survivors include her husband, James Roland Weiss of 61 years, to whom she was married March 10, 1955; four children, Theresa Weiss Zapalac and husband, David Zapalac, Lesa Weiss Rosinski and husband, Richard Rosinski, James Kevin Weiss and Katrina Weiss Porter and husband, Harold Porter; two brothers, Andrew F. Penzo and Husk Penzo; one sister, Claudine Penzo Pianalto; eight grandchildren, Harry Porter and wife, Amanda Porter, Stephen Porter, Ricky Rosinski and wife, Jordan Rosinski, James Michael Weiss, Matthew Zapalac, Kirby Weiss, Shelby Weiss, Corbin Weiss and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 10 a.m at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tontitown with Rev. Greg Hart officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the church. Rosary services will follow at 7 p.m. Online condolences may be left at www.siscofuneral.com.
