James "Fritz" Blue

James "Fritz" Blue, age 71, passed quietly from this life on the evening of January 26, 2016. He fought a courageous battle with congestive heart failure and succumbed to complications of a massive stroke at Hospice Care. Fritz was preceded in death by loving parents, John and Burnell Johnson Blue; grandparents, David and Elizabeth Clemons Johnson; one aunt, Equilla Johnson Lee and uncle-in-law, Charles N. Lee; four uncles: Jack, Clemons, James, and Roger Johnson. He is survived by one brother, Clemons Johnson "Mike" Blue; one sister, Patsy Blue; one favorite niece, Mikko Blue (Florida); special cousins, Rev. Norma (Murray) Gillerson; Charles "Stevie" Lee (Deborah) Memphis, Tenn.; Elizabeth Lee Tuggle and family (Las Vegas, Nevada) and other relatives and friends. Fritz graduated from Scipio A. Jones High School, Class of 1962, North Little Rock, Arkansas; Philander Smith College, Class of 1967, and he attended one year of law school before being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1968. He proudly served two years in the Vietnam War (Cahm Rahn Bay), and was honorably discharged. Upon discharge, he was employed by the city of Little Rock Model Cities Program, under the leadership of Nathaniel Hill, and he also worked in state government, Department of Local Services, for several years. Due to his free spirit he loved interacting and working with the public, leading him to work in advertising at several radio stations, local newspapers and department stores men's wear apparel. A special thanks of appreciation for the professional services and care shown to "Fritz" and the Blue family. A special thanks is extended to UAMS Emergency Room Physicians and staff; 4th Floor ICU staff and physicians; 6th Floor Medical Surgery Staff and Physicians; Social Services and Case Workers; and a special thanks to the Hospice Care staff, physicians and staff – you made "Fritz's" journey one of comfort and peace. A quiet graveside service will be on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 10 a.m.; Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock.
