Mary Rose Young Holland, 78, of Jacksonville passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Sherwood Nursing and Rehab. She was born November 8, 1937 in Whitton, Arkansas, but spent most of her childhood in Dyess, Arkansas. Mary Rose is survived by her two sons: Terry Holland and wife Bobbie of Jacksonville; and James Holland and wife Teresa of Maumelle; Five grandchildren: Brandi Holland of Birmingham, Ala.; Brittany Holland of Maumelle; Lauren Malm and husband Daniel of Little Rock; Michael Holland and wife Holly of Lake Charles, La.; and Christopher Holland and wife Chaley of Benton; three great-grandchildren: Benjamin and Beckett Malm and Tenley Holland. Brothers Charles Young of Marion; James Young of The Dalles, OR; and sister, Peggy Barton of West Memphis, and many dear friends who were like family to her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthell "Bill" Holland, parents, two brothers and two sisters. She loved her dog Hannah and working outside with her flowers and birds. She square danced for many years with her husband, and they both loved traveling and camping. She adored her boys, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with her family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Sherwood Nursing and Rehab and Gentiva Hospice for their exemplary care of Mary Rose in her final months. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 at 10 a.m. officiated by Dr. Jeff Beshears at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
