Raymond "Buddy" Lansdale

Raymond "Buddy" Lansdale, age 75 of Monticello, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born December 22, 1940 in the Possum Valley community to the late George Washington Lansdale and Edna Mae Newton Lansdale. He was a retired educator, builder, developer and was of the Methodist faith. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club, an outdoorsman where he liked to hunt and fish but his passion was gardening. Raymond was a proud member of The Medicine Men of Comanche Gap, a professional fraternity where he was the youngest man to be inducted in to the organization. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Bret Leslie Lansdale; one sister, Willene Greer and brother in law Travis Greer; five brothers, Troy Lansdale, Roy Lansdale, Earl Lansdale, Tracy Lansdale and Dallas Lansdale. Survivors include one son, Scott L. Lansdale and Maryjane Shelby of Copperas Cove, Texas; one brother, Billy Rex Lansdale and wife Delores of Monticello; three grandchildren, Mason, Clay and Molly Lansdale; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and a special friend of 25 years, LaNell McKiever and the entire McKiever family. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Possum Valley Cemetery.
