Bill B. Hampton, 82, of Benton, Ark. passed away Feb. 4, 2016. He was born June 26, 1933 in New Blaine, Ark. to the late Roy B. and Elsie Burkhead Hampton. Bill was a graduate of Arkansas Teachers College at UCA and was a school teacher and educator. He was Mr. Arkansas Body Building winner in the early 1950s. Bill served as the Deputy Director of the Office of Economic Opportunity under Governor Rockefeller. Bill started several successful businesses including Move, Inc., Vanworld of Arkansas, and Bits and Pieces, Inc. His proudest accomplishment was to be the Building Chairman for the First Christian Church of Benton, Ark. Preceding Bill in death are his parents; and son, Bryan Hampton. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Demo Lee Stephenson Hampton of Benton, Ark.; son, Mark Hampton of Bryant, Ark.; grandchildren, Lauren, Courtney, and John Hampton; brother, Ben Hampton and wife, Charlie of Houston, Texas; and many other relatives and friends who loved Bill and will miss him always. Memorial service, officiated by Rev. Greg Kirksey, will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Ark.
