MARY ANN MARCRUM RAWLS passed away at home, where she wanted to be, surrounded by her closest friends and family, on Feb. 4, 2016, from pulmonary fibrosis. She was born Aug. 25, 1948. Her parents were Thomas Lester Marcrum and Thelma Jean Roland Marcrum, who have predeceased her. The most important event in her life was her marriage to David Paul Rawls on Dec. 23, 1967. They recently celebrated their 48th Anniversary. Other significant events included graduations from law school and passing the Arkansas Bar. In October of 2013 she retired after 30 years at the U.S. District Court. Mary Ann was a friend of Bill W. for more than 21 years. She is survived by her husband, David Paul Rawls; and sister-in-law, Glenda Matthews of Charleston, S.C. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. and a Gathering of Remembrance will be Wednesday, February 10, at 5 p.m., both at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock.
