Adrian I. Hardman

ADRIAN I. HARDMAN, 86, of Little Rock, passed away on Feb. 6, 2016. He was born and raised in Fairmont, W. Va. He served in the Navy from 1947–1950 where he served on the USS Cutlass Submarine as a EN3(SS) where he spent six continuous months submerged underwater. He earned his Engineering Diploma in 1955. He held many jobs in his career until he retired from the Monogahela Power Company in W. Va. He retired in 1986 after receiving a World Record of 346 day of continuous operations with no electrical down time. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marilyn (Lyn Brady) Hardman; daughter, Valerie Clark and son, Maurice (Butch) Hardman; eight grandchildren and four great-grandsons; two stepdaughters; one stepson; and two stepgrandsons. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother and two sisters; and his first wife, Geraldine Sherman Hardman of W. Va. His family wishes to thank the staff of Presbyterian Village for their loving care once his Alzheimer's took over his life. His quick wit will be missed by all who knew him. Adrian enjoyed working outdoors in his vegetable and flower gardens. He enjoyed weekend trips, boating, golfing and sightseeing trips with his wife. He loved the time he spent with his dogs and cats on his farm in West Virginia. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 8 at Calvary Cemetery in Little Rock with Chaplain Ray Brown officiating. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501) 224-2200.
